This policy describes how Prodexa (“the app,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application. Prodexa helps you build flashcard decks, review them on a spaced-repetition schedule, plan for exams, and run focused study/Pomodoro sessions. Your study data lives on your device by default; signing in adds optional cloud sync and AI-assisted card generation.
Summary. We do not sell your personal data. Decks, cards, tasks, exams, and session history are stored on your device. If you create an account, that same data is also synced to Google Firebase so it follows you across devices. When you use AI-assisted card generation, the study notes you submit are sent to our backend and forwarded to an AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) solely to generate flashcards, then discarded. You can delete your account and all synced data at any time from the Account screen in the app.
Creating an account (email + password) uses Firebase Authentication. Once signed in, your decks, cards, tasks, exams, and sessions are mirrored to Cloud Firestore under a record keyed to your account, so they follow you to any device you sign in on. If you don't create an account, your data stays local to the device and is never sent to Firebase.
Firebase is operated by Google. Their practices are described in Google's privacy documentation. Data is stored in Google's infrastructure and may be processed in countries where Google operates data centers.
You can delete your account at any time. The Account screen in the app has a "Delete account" option that permanently removes your synced cloud data and your Firebase account. Data still stored only on your device is removed by deleting it in-app or uninstalling the app.
When you use the "generate cards from notes" feature, the notes text you provide is sent over HTTPS to our Firebase Cloud Function backend, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic, depending on configuration) to produce flashcard question/answer pairs. The generated cards are returned to your device; we do not retain the submitted notes or generated output on our servers beyond what's needed to serve the request and enforce a daily usage limit tied to your account.
Do not submit sensitive personal information (e.g. health records, government IDs) into the notes field if you're not comfortable with it transiting a third-party AI provider's systems.
The app may load fonts via Flutter's bundled font system. Third-party libraries used for authentication, sync, notifications, and sharing are limited to the Firebase and Flutter plugin ecosystem described above.
Prodexa has no advertising. We do not run third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. If a future update adds analytics, this policy will be updated and the app will reflect that where required by platform rules.
The app may request notification permission (to schedule study/exam reminders) and photo library access (to pick images to import or save exports). You can grant or deny these in your device settings; declining only disables the corresponding feature.
When you use "share" or export (for example exporting a deck), content is sent through your device's share sheet to apps and contacts you choose. We do not receive that data.
Prodexa is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
We use reasonable measures consistent with a mobile app of this type. Local data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud data is retained until you delete individual items, delete your account, or request deletion by contacting us — deleting your account removes it immediately.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can exercise deletion rights yourself using the in-app "Delete account" option, or contact us at the email below for anything we hold that the app doesn't expose directly. For data held by Google (Firebase) or an AI provider, you may also use their own privacy tools and settings.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy, unless applicable law requires another form of consent.
