Velo ("we," "our," or "the app") is an AI-powered task management and productivity application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our app.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Most of your data stays on your device. We only process limited information when you use specific AI-powered features.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and is never automatically sent to our servers:

Tasks and to-do items — titles, notes, due dates, priorities, categories
Subtasks and task metadata — completion status, reminders, recurrence settings
Focus sessions and work time logs — productivity tracking data
App preferences — theme (light/dark), notification settings, filters

2.2 AI Features Run Entirely On Your Device

Velo's AI features (smart parsing, category suggestions, subtask generation, mood-based recommendations, weekly review, Eisenhower matrix classification) run entirely on-device using local heuristics and pattern matching. We do not use any third-party AI or cloud service (including Google Gemini or any other large language model) to process your tasks. Your task text, images, and voice input are never transmitted off your device for AI processing.

Note: Voice input uses your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple's Speech framework on iOS, Android's SpeechRecognizer on Android) and text-to-speech engine — these are provided by your device's operating system, not by Velo or any third party we work with.

2.3 Permissions and Device Access

The app may request the following permissions. You can deny any permission; some features may be limited:

Statistics — Compute productivity insights from your local data
Sharing — When you share a task, data is sent only to the app or contact you choose

4. Data Storage and Security

Your task data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage where supported by the platform. We do not maintain central servers that store your personal task data.

AI features run entirely on-device. No task text, images, or voice data is ever transmitted to us or to any third party for AI processing.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your task data, images, or voice input with any third-party AI service. Data is shared only in this case:

Share feature — Only when you explicitly share a task with another app or person
Legal requirements — If required by law or to protect our rights

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

Access your data — All your data is stored on your device; you can view it in the app
Delete your data — Delete tasks, use the recycle bin, or uninstall the app to remove all data
Revoke permissions — Disable microphone, location, or other permissions in your device settings

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page or through an in-app notice.
