The App is the official tourism information application for Sayal Rural Municipality, Nepal. The App connects to our online services hosted at visitsayal.site to show destinations, events, businesses, maps, media, and related content.

2. Information the App may collect or process

If you create an account or sign in, we process:

• Identity and contact data: name, email address, and account identifier.
• Authentication data: a session token stored on your device so you stay signed in.
• Profile image (optional): if you choose a photo, the App may access your photo library (as permitted by your device) and upload the selected image to our servers for use as your avatar.

2.2 Content you submit

If you post reviews or comments on listings, we collect the text you submit, related metadata (such as which listing it refers to), and association with your account when you are logged in.

2.3 App preferences (on your device)

The App may store locally on your device:

• Light or dark display theme.
• Sign-in session data (token and cached profile information) using the device’s secure storage APIs.

2.4 Technical and usage-related data

When the App loads content (text, images, videos, maps), your device communicates with visitsayal.site and, where embedded, with third-party services such as Google Maps and YouTube. Those requests may involve standard technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, and approximate location derived by map services when you interact with maps. Such data may be processed by those providers under their own policies.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Provide tourism information, search, maps, media, and related features.
• Create and manage user accounts, profiles, and authentication.
• Display and moderate user-submitted reviews or comments as allowed by our services.
• Remember your preferences (language, theme) on your device.
• Maintain security of the service and troubleshoot issues.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

6. Data retention

We retain account and submitted content for as long as your account exists or as needed to operate the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Local preferences on your device remain until you clear app data or uninstall the App. Specific retention periods for server-side data may be described on our website or upon request.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
